It's probably not any better than the translate extension I have installed right now. I guess he wants chatGPT because he wants the 21st century novelty.

Hard to say how good it is with translations, but request itself is not interesting nor i don't think that anyone would create it for free.

It's pretty decent considering (The Google Translate Extension that is), based on my experience with it.

But yeah, no one is going to create a chatGPT extension like that for free. I even doubt it would generate that much interest even if he were to offer money to make it.

It's a gimmick, and I think most would see it as such.

Yep.. that is true.
Similar functionality can be seen on discord & is not hard to implement into phpBB, but i don't think it's worth the time & effort.
It would only be useful for big project as they have money to invest into it, but sharing the code as as extension is not a good idea.

Indeed, I would hope that in the case of such a development, the project pays the devs well. Especially if something has wide applications and will likely help make lots of people money. Especially since chatGPT is already replacing human workers.

ChatGPT can be a registered user now. What a time to be alive.

Based on some posts.. mods see so called AI users on com pretty often.
To be honest.. I don't see a point in that extension.. If i wanna talk to ChatGPT.. I will use official site.

Those bots are far away from reaching Jarvis level.. so i don't see any value in daily forum (whatever typing platform) convos with those bots.

There is no value or point with that extension, I find it stupid. I was being sarcastic, but I forgot that it doesn't convey that way in text.

On .com, it’s copy pasted AI content, but not much of a difference there.

Thanks to AI discussions i remembered "Demolition Man" movie.
In other words.. people like to bla-bla about evolution & how people have evolved over years, but in reality they close their eyes to not see/ignore degradation or true reality of laziness & slavery.

AI might be a good tool if used inna right way, but current path is not as bright as it may seem.

Oh, the "good" old Optimism-Bias. Where we falsely think the future will be all good.

Yeah, while I don't think "Demolition Man" is the type of future we will end up in, I highly doubt we are going anywhere good.

I'm reminded more of Cyberpunk. Dependence on tech in the wrong ways plus life being stripped of any and all value.
